Also known as EWR, Newark Liberty International Airport is located 15 miles southwest of Midtown Manhattan in New York City and sits on the border between Newark and Elizabeth, New Jersey. Like nearby LaGuardia and John F. Kennedy airports, EWR is operated by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. Together, the three airports make up the largest airport system in the U.S., the busiest in the world by flight operations, and the second busiest by passenger traffic. Newark Liberty International serves 30 carriers and is a hub for United Airlines.
