If you're dreaming of a romantic getaway, you might be saving up for a trip to Paris or Rome. But you could get a satisfying trip with your significant other even closer to home.

According to TripAdvisor's 16th annual Traveler's Choice Awards, the most romantic hotel in the U.S. isn't in a hot cosmopolitan destination. It's in America's heartland, in Perrysburg, Ohio.

The Belamere Suites is nestled in this tiny hamlet of about 20,000 people, according to HuffPost.

And while the hotel looks pleasant but unassuming on the outside, you may be surprised to find the accommodations on the inside are literally exactly what you're looking for in a romantic stay. Think about what you might get in a romantic hotel in a big city, and double it. That's what you get in Perrysburg.

According to HuffPost, the hotel offers a two-story loft suite with a private, heated, candlelit swimming pool, a sauna, two-person body massage shower, two-person jacuzzi tub, a crystal fireplace and chandeliers.

"Our guests typically say, 'My wife and I had such a great time at Belamere Suites, but unfortunately now we have to go home and get some sleep,'" owner John Kranjec told HuffPost.

Whoa.

A nightly stay averages about $218 a night, unless you go in the off-season in early spring (around March), when prices dip to about $199.

TripAdvisor's top hotel in the U.S. overall went to Nantucket Hotel and Resort in Massachusetts. One visitor said it was "warm, friendly, impeccably clean, perfectly located to town, inviting public spaces, great bed, nautical decor. We loved every minute." And the best hotel in the world went to Viroth's Hotel in Cambodia.

Of course, if you want a romantic wordly getaway, the honor went to a Parisian hotel, Maison Souquet, in Paris. You just can't beat the City of Love when it comes to a romantic vacation. But don't think you need to cross the Atlantic to celebrate your love.
