Miami International Airport

Established in the 1920s to accommodate flights to Cuba, Miami International Airport (MIA) is about seven miles northwest of downtown Miami. Unsurprisingly given its South Florida location, today MIA is the preeminent U.S. gateway for Latin America and the Caribbean, offering nonstop service to around 80 destinations in these regions. Hosting nearly 60 passenger airlines, the American Airlines hub is also an international cargo powerhouse.
