Mariah is Travel + Leisure's associate visuals director. She has been part of the T+L team since 2015 and has a decade of experience in photography and travel media, working with Southwest Airlines' in-flight magazine, Aperture, LensCulture, and Texas Monthly. She has also contributed to Food & Wine, USAA, The Dallas Morning News, and AARP. Mariah's background in cultural anthropology and photography informs her focus on the people and culture of every destination she covers. She values visual storytelling with strong narratives and believes in including all voices in order to broaden viewers' perspectives. Mariah helped launch Travel + Leisure's award-winning Behind the Views series and works on the art direction and production of digital spotlights, tentpoles, and special packages. As a city explorer and desert lover, Mariah has published stories on Día de los Muertos in Puerto Vallarta, Voodoo in New Orleans, Texas BQQ in Paris, and more. She is a photographer and writer based in San Antonio, Texas.
